The dream of flying is as old as mankind itself. Our founding fathers had the vision to live this dream. Since 1949, countless hours of voluntary work have made Weisse Möwe Wels what it is today: a center of Austrian aviation. Our club has 600 members and offers a comprehensive range of flying opportunities.
Wide range of offers for flight enthusiasts
We offer our members and guests three runways and 15 airplanes to pursue their passion, as well as a comprehensive infrastructure, a highly regarded flying school and our own club magazine called „Cumulus“. Daily updated information can be found on our homepage. As one of the largest flying clubs in Austria, we are particularly committed to maintaining the flying community and promoting young people and new talent.
Friendly cooperation
The camaraderie between pilots promotes trust in our diverse membership structure right from the start. We are happy to welcome any colleague who would like to join us, but there is no obligation to work any hours. working hours. The WMW association enjoys a high reputation in Wels and in aviation circles. It also fulfills a social function.
Efficient management
The idea that aviation is only for the rich is a myth - especially in a club like „Weisse Möwe Wels”. Volunteer members form an efficient organization to run the club and the airfield. club and the airfield. We also employ four people in administration and management. The WMW and nature
Weisse Möwe operates the Wels airfield. Due to its size and our nature-friendly management, it has developed into a natural biotope - the last remnant of the „Wels Heath“. The preservation of this functioning symbiosis between nature and technology and this unique jewel for general aviation is one of the association's main tasks, which it performs responsibly in order to secure its existence for future generations.

At our public civil airfield in Wels, we operate Austria's largest aviation sports center in harmony with nature.
We particularly value the individuality and diversity of our members, who pursue a common goal. The practice of all aviation sports - professional, service-oriented and affordable at the same time.
We promote the enthusiasm of our active members and junior staff through sound training and further education. In this way, we ensure the further development and future of the association.
